2.5 Object origins

Before working with 3D modeling in Blender, it is important to

understand and learn how to manipulate some key properties of objects

in the 3D Viewport. One of those aspects is the object origin point, which

might help you place and edit objects with improved precision.

Where are object origins? You will find that most 3D objects in Blender

display a small dot with an orange color (Figure 2.16).

Every time you set the coordinates of an object using either the Sidebar

or the Properties Editor, you are using the origin point location as the

reference. If you set the coordinates to zero for all axis, it will be the

origin point that will stay at those coordinates.
